All about the tube shortage. Tube or valve guitar amps have been around for decades and there is no end is sight to their popularity among musicians. While there are worthy solid state alternatives and state of the art modeling amps and plugins, real vacuum tube based guitar amps are as popular as ever. The past couple of years have been tough on the whole world and vacuum tubes have been harder to obtain recently due to supply chain issues from the three main manufacturers, Shuguang, New Sensor who make Electro Harmonix (EHX), Tung-Sol, EH Gold, Genalex Gold Lion, Mullard, Svetlana and the Sovtek brand, and Jamona who makes JJ tubes. But these tube shortages are likely only temporary and supply should be available again in the future.
