SHOWER TILE REPAIR — SAVED HOMEOWNER THOUSANDS

This homeowner had a shower that was leaking out of the bottom of the curb when he would use it. When he called me, he was expecting to have to do a full shower and tub remodel because he figured there would be no other way to repair it.  I told him to hold on, and I would come over to investigate to see if there was anyway I could save the shower.  It turns out that the shower had clogged weep holes at the drain.  
The methods I show here can also be employed when needing to repair a chipped tile or grout on your shower wall or floor.  Using a 4" grinder to cut out the tiles before you chisel them will help ensure that you don't chip the tile next to it.
I removed a few tiles around the drain, unclogged the weep holes, and re-installed the tile and drain cover.
