Lemon Brownies Blondies using a cake mix! Rich and delicious

Lemon brownies from a cake mix - rich and moist. Try it! Don't snub it because it has a cake mix in it! ;)
These were originally called lemon brownies but Scott said they cannot be brownies if they are not brownies, they need a name change. So on Facebook my cousin suggested blondies. I think that is better. However, these have the exact texture of brownies! OMG they are so good and rich.
1 (18 1/2 oz) box Lemon Supreme Cake Mix
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons water (try milk!)
1/2 C. oil (try coconut oil for a coconut-y flavor!)
2 eggs
1 cup chopped pecans
confectioner's sugar (optional)
Empty cake mix in a bowl and make a well in center. Add sugar, water, oil and eggs. Mix well by hand and add nuts. Batter will be thick. Pour and spread batter in a greased 9x13x2-inch baking dish
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min. Cool.
Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar and cut into squares.
Store in tightly covered container. Yield: 24.
I used an 8x8 pan because my family likes thick and chewy brownies. I baked them for 42 minutes. They are perfect.
