With some careful analysis, the right age to claim should emerge.
In some cases, it’s perfectly fine to take benefits at age 62 (or some time before your FRA). For example, you might expect to live a relatively short life, or maybe you just need the cash flow sooner for a comfortable lifestyle. There are also considerations for married couples, and sometimes it makes sense to look at both retirement benefits and how your claiming strategy can work best.
That said, if you are going to claim early, it’s important to be mindful of the earnings test if you’ll keep working. That might not cause major problems, but you don’t want to get caught by surprise.
