First up is how to guarantee stealing the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane in Act 1. This is perfect for Honor mode where you only have one shot at it. To do this, you’ll need to have a level 5 Beast Master Ranger Bear Companion with Honeyed Paws and a Divination Wizard with Invisibility, Misty Step, and Portent Die. To pull this off, first send Lae’zel to camp and ungroup your party. Then move close to the Githyanki Patrol with just your bear and your Wizard, but stop just before the logs. Cast Invisibility on your Bear and use Honeyed Paws on Kith’rak Voss. If it succeeds - perfect - tell Gale to run and use Misty Step to get as far away as possible and Flee Combat. Then, just dismiss the bear and the next time you reach the encounter you can pick up the sword. If the bear misses its attack, you can use your Wizard’s Portent Die as a reaction to guarantee it hits. Portent Die lets you change an attack roll or a saving throw as a reaction to the number of the portent die, and it will only appear as a reaction if the bear missed its Honeyed Paws attack. Having a Portent Die of at least 17 will guarantee success. If your Wizard didn’t get a Portent Die of at least 17, you can just long rest over and over until that’s the number you get. Since Honeyed Paws doesn’t trigger a saving throw it will always disarm the target if it hits and with Invisibility granting advantage, and a Divination Wizard with Portent Die we can guarantee it hits every time.

And Next up is how to get Permanent Flame Blades! The Flame Blade is a scimitar that deals 5d6 Fire damage when upcast to a level 6 spell. It usually only lasts 10 turns, which isn’t great for a level six spell slot, but if you use this trick, you can get it to last forever, which makes this a powerful weapon, especially since it’s light and can be dual wielded. It’s also one of the coolest looking weapons in the game. To do this, cast Flame Blade using a hireling to create the flame blade. Then, return the hireling to the fugue plane. Then go back to withers and hire the exact same hireling. The hireling will now have a Permanent Flame Blade and it can be traded to another character. You can repeat the process over and over with your hireling druid, allowing you to get an infinite number of these Permanent Flame Blades, since if you ever run out of gold, Withers doesn’t mind if you pickpocket him.

Next up is permanent Shadow Blades. The Shadow Blade is a short sword that deals 2d8 Psychic damage. It’s actually not bad on its own, but in order to get this weapon, you need the shadow blade ring. This ring grants you the ability to create this weapon, but it requires your concentration and you need to keep the ring on in order to keep the blade in existence. But with this trick you can create an infinite number of shadow blades, and you can pass them around and use them on any number of characters without having the ring equipped. Just like with the flame blades, to do this, equip the ring to a hireling and create the shadow blade. Then, return the hireling to the fugue plane and go back to withers and hire the exact same hireling. The blade will now be permanent, and the ring can be used again to create another shadow blade – allowing you to repeat the process over and over. And to get the shadow blade ring, all you need to do is save arabella in act 1, and in act 2, help arabella find her parents. Once you do, talk to arabella after you give her news of her parents and after a long rest you’ll receive this ring letting you create shadow blades.
