2D Hydraulic Modeling in HEC-RAS—Informal Wright Water Engineers Webinar

WWE Engineers Drake Ludwig and Sam Plaza gave a webinar on the basics of performing 2D hydraulic modeling in HEC-RAS. Their presentation included common applications for 2D models, what data are necessary to create them, how to create the input files necessary to run the model, how to view and extract results, and strategies to assess and troubleshoot model reasonability and errors.Several examples of past and ongoing WWE projects which utilized 2D modeling, including floodplain analyses, mudflow mapping, and dam design, were shown to demonstrate the wide array of uses for 2D modeling.  The webinar is informal, but we are sharing it for those who are interested.
