Burda Style dress pattern to jacket. Woven jacket/knit raglan sleeves. Pinned into reality.

I am showing how with a raglan sleeve dress pattern, I was able to transform it into a jacket pattern to create a style I was inspired by from Pinterest. Lots of pattern cutting, drafting and fun sewing.

I used a dress pattern from one of my Burdastyle magazines. 08/2014 number 141. I traced my pattern but it is also available online as a single pdf here:

The pattern calls for stretch woven, or horizontal stretch. I used woven :)
I am NOT a professional. I have fun and experiment. This works for me and it could work for you too if you tried.
My specifics:
* Size 46 Burda
* Lowered the original side bust dart
* Cropped the dress mid-hip
* Moved the side bust dart volume into two princess seams I created
* Created two front waist darts to match the seams I created. I used the same depth as the original dart
*Eliminated the back waist dart by incorporating it into a new seam.
* Chambray for the body, french terry for the sleeves
* 5 2cm buttons
* A whole lot of fun!
Up close and SEW personal includes:
* Changing the dress pattern into a jacket
* Some construction
The Lookbook features:
2 OLD me-made knit dresses that are self-drafted and an OLD self drafted silk cami top. RTW jeans.
