Delicious pecans, butter, brown sugar, maple syrup combine to make the perfect pecan pie. Perfectly sweet with a wonderful crunch from the pecans, this is the best pecan pie recipe for holidays or any parties. We made the classic pecan pie into individual serving size but you can make one 9 inch pie using the same measurement.

💥 Pecan Pie Ingredients: for six 4x1 inch tart pan or one 9 inch pie pan
For the crust:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour plus more to dust, *measured correctly
1/2 Tbsp granulated sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup COLD unsalted butter (2 sticks) diced into 1/4" pieces
5 Tbsp ice water (5 to 6 Tbsp)

For the Filling:
3 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
4 tbsp unsalted butter 60g
1 cup light corn syrup
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
3/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup whole pecans for decorating top
1 egg + 1 tbsp water, for egg wash (if using 9 inch pie pan)

💥 Pecan Pie Instructions:
For the crust:
1. Place flour, sugar and salt into the bowl of a food processor and pulse a few times to combine.
2. Add cold diced butter and pulse the mixture until coarse crumbs form with some pea-sized pieces then stop mixing. Mixture should remain dry and powdery.
3. Add 6 Tbsp ice water and pulse just until moist clumps or small balls form. Press a piece of dough between your finger tips and if the dough sticks together, you have added enough water. If not, add more water a teaspoon full at a time. Be careful not to add too much water or the dough will be sticky and difficult to roll out.
4. Transfer dough to a clean work surface, and gather dough together into a ball (it should not be smooth and DO NOT knead the dough). Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 30 minutes before using.
5. Set oven to 385F and removed the chilled dough from the fridge and place on the counter to warm for about 5 minutes. Roll out into a circle about one inch larger than the pie pan and 1/4 inch thick.
6. Transfer the pie dough onto the pie dish and press into place. Trim as needed then fold and crimp the edge. Prick the crust with a fork.
7. Line the crust with parchment paper and add dry beans or pie weights. Bake the crust for 15 minutes at 385F. Remove the beans and paper (save the beans for another time) and bake for another 15 minutes and remove from oven.

For the filling:
8.  In a large mixing bowl, add eggs, brown sugar, nutmeg,  melted butter, corn syrup, maple syrup, vanilla extract, salt and whisk together. Add chopped pecan and mix well.
9. Pour filling into pie shell then arrange whole pecans on surface.
10. Mix egg and a tablespoon of cream in a small bowl and brush onto the edge of the crust.
11. Bake for about 30-35  minutes at 350F, the edge will be set and the crust should be golden throughout.
12. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or ice cream.
13. Enjoy!

Note: Use foil to cover the crust from browning too much. You can remove the foil after 20 minutes so the crust can take on some color.
