How to Reset the Garmin GPSMap 76 Series Handheld

GPS City will show you how to RESET your Garmin 76 series GPS back to factory default settings.  Back up all wanted GPS data using Basecamp as a precaution before starting.

Hold the Page and Enter buttons down then power the unit on. Continue to hold Page and Enter until you see a prompt asking, "Do you really want to erase all user data?", you can release your fingers and select yes.  

Problems that may be solved by resetting the GPS;
-My GPSMap 76csx will not track satellites!
-Forgot what settings were changed and need to restart.
-My compass will not work or calibrate.
-My barometric altimeter will not work or calibrate.
-GPS wont connect to my heart rate monitor.
-GPS will not connect to my chirp.
...

Also it is best to perform a firmware update using Garmin WebUpdater.  This too sometimes fixes problems you see with your GPS.
