We will make a Simple
We will make a Simple Model (link to instruction here drive.google.com/file/d/1izyOjOkNmEnjjbggX2jgsdpCk… ) of a plant and see how plant stems, root and leaf work together to make food. The plant is a perfect food factory that captures the sun’s energy, takes water from the soil and carbon dioxide from air. To do this it needs the big structures we see in a normal typical plant I have here – the root, the stem and the leaves.
Roots – Sucks up water.
Stem – to act as the pipe to carry water and food through tube like vessels. But how does it carry water upwards without a pump. Does water move upward against gravity without a pump.
Leaves – the place where food is made from water and sunlight. So, it is broad and flat to catch maximum sunlight and has stomata. It is also place from where water is evaporated from the plant by a process called transpiration.
