I have used the Loomis method. The Loomis method was invented by an American artist and Illustrator called Andrew Loomis. It's a great approach to improve the accuracy of your portrait drawings. Here, I demonstrate the Loomis drawing method with an in depth step by step tutorial.

Also, in this portrait drawing demonstration, I have used some additional art techniques which can help you structure the face and help make your shading more three dimensional. There are helpful diagrams which show the facial contours to help guide your drawing. These contours were created using the Asaro and Reilly drawing methods. These art techniques help you understand how to create gesture and also help you learn how to apply light and shadow to your drawing. Ultimately leading to more a more realistic portrait drawing.

EQUIPMENT:
Cartridge paper sketchbook.
Mechanical graphite pencils - 0.3mm and 2.0mm, H,B, HB, 2B and 3B.
Classic wooden graphite pencils - H, HB,2B, 3B,4B, 5B, 6B, 7B, 8B
Eraser filled pencil which can be sharpened.
Refillable eraser pen.
