Tense, in grammar, a verbal category relating the time of a narrated event to the time of the speech event.

There are 12 major verb tenses in English in all. They are

What is Present Perfect Tense?

What Is the Present Perfect Tense? (with Examples)
The present perfect tense describes an action that began in the past (despite being a present tense). For example:
John has taken Sarah's advice.
They have fixed the fence.

What is Past Perfect Tense?
The past perfect refers to a time earlier than before now. It is used to make it clear that one event happened before another in the past. It does not matter which event is mentioned first - the tense makes it clear which one happened first.
In these examples, Event A is the event that happened first and Event B is the second or more recent event:
Event A
John had gone out
Event B
when I arrived in the office.

What Is the Future Perfect Tense? The Future perfect tense is used to describe an action that will have been completed at some point in the future. For example:
John will have baked a cake.
They will have painted the fence.
