If you want to utilize looks created during on-set grading in LiveGrade Pro for dailies creation in Silverstack Lab, you need to match the looks from LiveGrade to the clips in Silverstack. I will show you how easy and automated this can be.

Therefore this process starts in LiveGrade where we already prepared a few looks that hold timecode information as well as further metadata.
With a right click to the look folder in the library you can export a Pomfort Look Archive file that holds the complete look information for all included looks.

We can now go to Silverstack Lab to import the Look Archive from LiveGrade Pro. We offloaded our media into the library and now select the bin with the clips the looks have been created for. Go to the import menu in the toolbar and select “Match Pomfort Look Archive”.

In the Look Matching wizard you first have to select the Look Archive file that you exported from LiveGrade Pro.

The looks, that are visible on the right side, are now matched to the clips on the left via Timecode.

Additionally you are able choose between different matching methods like for example matching by time of day and you have options to deal with multiple cameras as well as the possibility to import looks for further use into the Look Library. But in most cases you can simply go ahead and click “Apply Looks”.

When we now go to the grading panel we can see that the looks came up as they have been prepared in LiveGrade.

The looks are ready for further tweaking or can directly be taken into transcoding. To burn the looks into your Dailies go to the transcoding configurations and make sure to have “As in Library” selected as Look Source.

With just a few clicks we are now ready to transcode our Dailies in Silverstack Lab with our on-set looks from LiveGrade Pro already burned in.

To learn more about the benefits of on-set looks for dailies creation please take a look at our white paper that gives more insights on the workflow. Or you can visit our Knowledge Base if you are interested in more details about the feature.
