Footage from Southport reveals the aftermath of violent clashes that erupted outside a mosque in Southport yesterday.
Far-right protesters and police clashed following a knife attack that killed three children. Thirty-nine officers were injured during the trouble, according to the ambulance service.
Three police dogs were also injured; one suffered burns to her back leg, and another required stitches for a leg laceration caused by a thrown brick.
Four people have been arrested following last night's riots.
The Chief Constable of Merseyside Police estimates that around 200 to 300 people were involved in the violence.
