The AK-47 short mags makes
The AK-47 short mags makes more sense for hunting cause it's lighter and it wouldn't get hung up in the branches as easily.
If you don't have a hand grinder, you can use a Dremel (albeit it's slower). The procedure is the same for synthetic mags but instead of a grinder, use razor blade, hack saw and hand file, it's much easier.
Note, I inadvertently reverse the measurement of the cut-out on the back plate, its approx 3/8" w by 1/2" h.
