Konni is one of the major towns in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala State in India. Konni is a panchayat and taluk headquarters. Konni is famous for elephant training centre, elephant cage (Aanakkoodu in Malayalam language), forests, eco tourism centres and plantation, especially rubber. Konni forest division is the first reserve forest division in Kerala. Adavi eco tourism centre is a main attraction near Konni. Kutta vanchi sailing is popular picnic activity. Konni is on the banks of Achankovil river. The new government medical college in Konni is around 5 km away from Konni Town centre.
Konni is on the Main eastern highway or State Highway 08 between Moovattupuzha and Punalur. Major nearby towns are the district headquarters Pathanamthitta, Pathanapuram, Adoor, Pandalam, Ranni, Punalur etc.
Konni aanakkoodu or elephant cage is famous. It is one of the two elephant training centers in Kerala. The other one is Kodanadu. Konni elephant training center was established in 1942. Wild elephants captured from nearby forests brought here and trained till capturing of elephants banned in 1977.
ആനക്കൂടിന്റെ നാടാണ് കോന്നി. കാട്ടിൽ നിന്നും പിടിച്ചിരുന്ന ആനകളെ ചട്ടം പഠിപ്പിക്കാനായാണ് ആനക്കൂടും , പരിശീലന കേന്ദ്രവുമൊക്കെ തുടങ്ങിയത് . പത്തനംതിട്ട ജില്ലയിലെ പ്രധാന പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് . അടൂർ , പത്തനാപുരം, പന്തളം , പത്തനംതിട്ട , റാന്നി , പുനലൂർ ഒക്കെയാണ് സമീപ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ . അടവി ഇക്കോ സെന്റർ കോന്നിയിലാണ് . കുട്ടവഞ്ചി സവാരിയാണ് അവിടുത്തെ പ്രധാന ആകർഷണം .
