Can you laser cut solder paste stencils from Mylar?

Let's find out if you can laser cut SMD solder paste stencils from 5mil mylar sheets.

My plan is to make affordable stencils that I can include in my Neo7Segment kits that I will be selling on tindie, and I've heard of others that have used a product called Mylar and a sharp art knife to hand make basic solder paste stencils...

... but I have a perfectly good laser cutter, so lets find out if the two will play nicely together!

I mean, burning polyester with a laser beam? What could possibly go wrong? :D
