Jacoby Rashi'd Jones, born on July 11, 1984, in New Orleans, Louisiana, left an indelible mark on the National Football League (NFL) and beyond. His story is one of perseverance, triumph, and dedication, both on and off the field.
Jacoby's early life in New Orleans East was marked by challenges that would shape his resilient character. He attended St. Augustine High School and later Marion Abramson High School. At St. Augustine, Jacoby's potential was initially overlooked due to his small stature, prompting a transfer to Abramson on the recommendation of his godfather, Allen Woods. This change proved pivotal, as it was at Abramson that Jacoby's athletic talents began to flourish. Despite his promising football skills, Jones faced another setback when Hurricane Katrina destroyed both his childhood home and his high school. Undeterred, he pressed on, attending Southeastern Louisiana University on a track scholarship before transferring to Lane College, a Division II school, in 2003.
