Well, so did the writers behind Dungeons and Dragons, because in 1989 they straight up yoinked the borg from The Next Generation and put them in a multiverse spanning adventure for D&D characters level 17-19! Today, we are talking about the oard, one of D&D's most blatant and fascinating creatures inspired by pop culture.
