President Biden tests positive for COVID at crucial moment in election campaign

Donald Trump's new running mate, JD Vance, delivered a speech on the third day of the Republican National Convention. Mr Vance praised Trump for his defiance after the attempt on his life.

Meanwhile, Joe Biden has been forced to pull out of a campaign speech after contracting COVID.

Mr Biden is experiencing mild symptoms, the White House said, including "general malaise", from the infection.
