The legendary Barcelona location of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has been providing the highest level of service to its guests since 2009 but had experienced some challenges recently: a labor shortage combined with dependence on a dated legacy system was resulting in operational inefficiencies and was affecting the high quality of service that Mandarin Oriental's guests were accustomed to. A change had to be made. After a rigorous evaluation process Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona decided to move forward with Infrasys, Shiji's Cloud POS, which was already in use at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid. Once a meticulously planned transition was complete, the hotel began realizing substantial efficiency improvements, leaving staff more time to engage with guests. Many rote tasks were also automated resulting in faster, more personalized service, which in turn led to higher guest ratings. Furthermore, installing Infrasys upgraded the property's data security and gave management access to advanced data analytics that led to improved decision-making. Overall, installing Infrasys not only modernized Mandarin Oriental's tech stack, but also made a huge impact throughout every level of the hotel's operations.
