Definition of Iman Iman is an Arabic word that literally means belief, trust, or trust.  In Islamic terminology, faith means firm belief and trust in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and destiny.  Faith has three basic components:

1.Confession with the tongue
(Confession with the tongue): Expressing the truthfulness of Allah and His Messengers with the tongue.
2. Tasdeek Bal Qalb
(Believing with the heart): Believing these facts to be true from the bottom of the heart.
3.Amal Bal Arkaan
(Expressing through Actions): Giving proof of this faith through your actions and actions.

These three components together define complete faith.
Faith is not just a name to say with the tongue, but to believe from the bottom of the heart and act according to that belief.
