How High Is Too High When Hanging Trail Cameras?

In today's video, we are covering a topic that often gets overlooked when it comes to trail cameras. We all have heard to get your cameras up high to avoid theft and being detected by wildlife, but how high is too high? When you get your cellular trail cameras up too high, there are a couple of things that can happen.

First, you can really limit your cameras detection zone. The detection angle of the camera is only 45 degrees, so getting it up high and angling it down can cause your detection zone to shrink drastically.

This leads us to our next point. If you shrink the detection zone, you can create dead zones in your cameras detection zone where to where you can miss deer completely that walk in front of your camera.

There is a sweet spot that we have found for trail camera height that helps limit being detected by humans and animals, but also doesn't limit your detection zone. Be sure to tune in to find out what the optimal height is!
