NightRide Scout Roof Mounted Thermal. Detailed review with actual footage taken over the last few months. This Scout has a 384 core, 17ųm with a 1x base magnification. It has an excellent field of view and mounts quickly and easily to your vehicle via strong magnets in the base of the unit. The Scout is awesome for detecting animals, especially when you're on the move. Identification can be a bit tricky at times due to the 384 resolution core and the 1x magnification.  Foxes and rabbits could be detected out past 300m and larger animals out to around 1000m+. Identification however was great to 100m, with smaller animals occasionally being identified up to 200m by their movement and larger animals out to between 300 - 500m.
