Hans Christian Andersen, better known as H.C. Andersen might sound foreign to kids today. But it's a different story if you are a 90s kid who likes watching Disney cartoons on Sundays. He is a famous Danish fairy tale writer.
It took Andersen almost 10 years for his works to be accepted by parents and children. Some of his fairy tales are actually inspired by his own life.
His fairy tales are not only printed in books, but also films and are the favorites of many children around the world. Unfortunately, although Andersen made many children happy with his fairy tales, he actually had a sad life.
Andersen never married and had no children. He has many phobias. He is afraid of dogs, he does not eat pork for fear of contracting the trichinae parasite and he always carries a long rope in his trunk so he can escape from fires.
His fairy tales are timeless, I hope there are more storytellers who can make children happy with their fairy tales and not with their gadgets.
