As a video maker working on an animation project using AI, the process of creating an animated video featuring a famous male singer was both fascinating and complex. The goal was to capture her essence in a stylized yet realistic way, using AI-generated visuals to enhance the creative process. Here’s how the journey unfolded:
1. Pre-Production: Concept and Planning
The first step was conceptualizing the video. We wanted to portray a famous singer in a studio setting, capturing his charm, and the dynamic energy of being on set. Since the video was going to be animated using AI-generated images, we had to ensure that every detail—from his appearance to the studio environment—was accurately represented but with a creative twist.
In pre-production, we gathered reference materials, including photos of the singer, studio setups, and lighting conditions. The key was to make sure that the AI could generate visuals that reflected his likeness while fitting into the stylized world we were building.
2. AI Image Generation
Once we had the concept, I used AI tools to generate the key images. The process involved feeding the AI multiple references of the actress, including photos from different angles, lighting conditions, and outfits she had worn in iconic roles. I used an AI model that specializes in generating hyper-realistic portraits and environments based on input images and descriptions.
Character Design: I provided detailed descriptions of the singer's facial features, hairstyle, and wardrobe. The AI generated a series of portraits, and we fine-tuned them to make sure they were close to his real-life appearance. This process involved adjusting the facial structure, skin tone, and adding nuances like the sparkle in her eyes or her signature smile.
Studio Setup: The studio itself was also designed using AI. We described the lighting, camera setups, and backdrops that would match the vibe of a classic French cinema shoot. The AI created different iterations of the studio, giving us various options for how the scene could look.
