Unlocking the Future: 2025 Mazda CX-5 Hybrid Revealed!
Mazda's best-selling model is the CX-5, which sold 365,135 units last year. Even at that volume, there were rumors that subsequent models might threaten its future. However, a new version of the CX-5 is expected soon.
Mazda said a new CX-5 will be sold alongside the CX-50 and CX-90. Mazda has said the launch date will be announced soon, according to Drive. The new CX-5 is projected to have a design similar to the present model, with front-wheel drive as standard and all-wheel drive as an option.
The next-generation Mazda CX-5 may include a hybrid drivetrain like the Toyota RAV4 or Corolla Cross. Toyota owns 5% of Mazda and has collaborated on several automobiles, including a Japanese-only hybrid Mazda 3. The Mazda Toyota Manufacturing facility in Huntsville, Alabama, makes the Mazda CX-50 and Toyota Corolla Cross.
Mazda previously announced that it would build three electric cars, five plug-in hybrids, and five conventional hybrids by 2025. However, it has not yet announced which automobiles will have those powertrains. Some hybrids with rotary engines have been rumored. Mazda has patented a rotary plug-in hybrid electric sports car and hinted to a US CX-30 rotary engine hybrid.
Unlike earlier rotary-engined cars, the CX-30 will not have an internal combustion engine. Instead, it will generate electricity to recharge a 17.8 kWh battery, giving the car a 53-mile electric range. Mazda's North American CEO, Jeff Guyton, said the firm is emphasizing the CX-30 in Europe and Japan but has not ruled out bringing the rotary back to America.
