Saturday, May 23 was the last day of service at the old Lechmere station before its closure due to construction for the upcoming Green Line extension. Built as a temporary transfer station by the Boston Elevated Railway in 1922, this venerable station served as Northern terminus for the Green Line for nearly a century.
