It seems this is the week of nostalgic archiving, because we are archiving yet another game from that glorious time of point 'n click. Muppet Treasure Island was an amazing game that was developed with love and detail by the team of Jim Henson. He was personally involved in this project and all the original voice cast are returning to perform in this awesome game as they talk directly to the player. Even the great Tim Curry graces us with his mischievous smile as John Silver.
The game plays as a regular adventure game where you have to perform certain puzzles and tasks in order to progress. In the mean time you can click on various objects in the environment and funny stuff will happen. Much in the same style as Putt-Putt or Pajama Sam. The art of the locations is gorgeous and the actual models of the Muppets themselves still hold up to this day. Despite it being a bit pixelated, it is always clear on what is happening.
I've always had much love for the Muppet Treasure Island movie and also had a listening book of it when I was a kid. So the circle felt complete when I finally got to play and archive the official PC game of Muppet Treasure Island. Welcome aboard, lads!
