How To Create A Dropdown Menu In WordPress - (FAST & Easy!)
Learn how to create a dropdown menu in WordPress step by step. Adding a dropdown menu in WordPress is a quick and easy process.
To start, from the WordPress dashboard, you want to hover over the appearance tab in the left-side menu. Click Menus. If you already have a menu on your site you’ll see it being displayed here. If you have multiple menus you can select the menu to edit here by hitting select.
If you need to create a new menu. Click the create a new menu tab. Name the menu. I’ll name one Demo as an example. You’ll see you can choose to select automatically add new top-level pages to this menu. You can also select if you want the menu to be your primary menu, footer menu, or secondary menu. Click the create menu button to create your menu.
You can then drag over pages, posts, or whatever you’d like from the left to add them to your menu.
Let’s begin in creating a dropdown menu.
From the left, where you can add in pages, posts, and more to your menu. Select what you want to be the dropdown. For example, I’ll select Sample Page. I’ll click add to menu to add it to the menu. You’ll see it’ll bring it down on the bottom of the menu.
Next, you want to drag it up to be under where you want the dropdown to show and slide it over to the right just like shown here. It’ll then say sub-item next to the name. You’ll see I added mine under Services. This will add it as a dropdown menu. I’ll go ahead and select the sample page again. I’ll click add to menu. I’ll add it one more time. I’ll now drag up Sample page up to be under just like shown here to add it as a dropdown menu. I’ll drag Sample page up again. When you are done, click save menu.
Next, Hover over your site title name at the top. Click visit site. Go up to the menu and you’ll see the dropdown menu is showing under Services.
That is how to create a dropdown menu in WordPress. You should now have a dropdown menu added for your WordPress site.
