Moore Jig Boring Machine and the exotic Tree taper boring head

Tree angle cutting boring head mounted in a Moore jig boring machine cutting the 7 1/2 degree locating taper on a D1-6 chuck mount for an Axelson lathe. These used chucks are in need of repair from years of use.
This head often offers a huge time savings over using a rotary table for many functions with better results. This Tree head along with the Wohlhaupter were top of the line milling machine attachments pre-CNC that began showing up surplus in the 1980s. The last price I know of was $4100 in the early1990s when they were being made by another company.
Tree offered a fine feed head also but the standard head works as well if you slow the feed when needed by letting the knurled collar slip or grabbing on it intermittently. The depth of cuts is done by moving the spindle nose  closer each pass..
