What's the best tire inflator? Well we'll find out when we compare the DeWalt tire inflator to the Ridgid tire inflator. Before we dive into the review and comparison, let's talk about some key features the best tire inflator should have. There are many tire inflators on the market today form top brands like Milwaukee and Makita, and also consumer brands like Ryobi. All of which make very good tire inflators; but here's why none of those are in this comparison video.

First, and only; all of those aforementioned brands use one type of power source... their respective 18V - 20V batteries.

There you have it. That's the problem. If you have a tire inflator, it's something you'd generally keep in the trunk of the car. While yes, most of the time you may likely recognize a low tire before leaving the house, but sometimes it can happen after you've left work or any other location you've been for a matter of hours.

The Ryobi tire inflator works great and has the best price out of the bunch. However, it is limited by its one power supply, and leaving lithium ion batteries in the car is the last thing you want to do. It absolutely will not work if it's been in there too long and can potentially leave you stranded. While the handheld Ryobi inflator is a fantastic price, it's fins being on the handle cause cold air to blow while in use. Since it's manual, you have to stand there hunched over with your hand freezing when using the Ryobi power inflator.

This is why it was important for the best tire inflator to have more than one power source. Enter the DeWalt tire inflator. It is powered by THREE different sources. 20V battery, 12V DC, and AC adapter from home. The Ridgid tire inflator is powered by an 18V battery as well as a 12V DC.

While on the surface it may seem the DeWalt automatically wins. We have to note that the AC power cord for the DeWalt tire inflator costs as much or more than the entire Ridgid tire inflator unit! So for testing purposes, it's safe to just say they are both equal to one another.

While the DeWalt tire inflator has superior build quality, is quieter, and has more features than the Ridgid. There were many complaints in reviews that stated the unit failed quickly or right outside the warranty window. At $129.99... that's a hard pill to swallow.

The Ridgid tire inflator on the other hand has an LSA (Lifetime Service Agreement) if registered within 90 days of purchase which nullifies its subpar build quality. The unit functions perfectly as intended, and at $49 (on sale) and $69 regular price, becomes a hard value to pass up.
