This video was recorded in Festival de Música Contemporáneacde Alicante in 2008. This was the most important avant-garde music Festival in Spain. I was very happy to honouran entire program dedicated to my dear friend Karlhienz Stockhausen. I met him in 2004 at his courses in Kürten, Germany and he prized me for my performance of Klavierstück 11. After that we had a lovely correspondance and we work together two more times ( Klavierstück 7 and 9) at his studio before his death in 2007. In one of his letters he write me "Your Talent was given by GOD!"

Stockhuasen was writing Natürliche Dauern when I met him. I remember him showing me the first sketches of the piece speaking about his feelings. Some passages were autobiographical in many aspects. A cluster scales passage he defines as life going ahead up to the top of the piano and then again and again. Other passages recalls some kind of "Waterfalls". Some other had different tempi and metronome for each hand which he was very intriged. And of course the way he was transforming complex "resonance" and natural "resonance" as the material in itself.

That was the first time I I played it. My father was so curious about this new music. He loved Stockhausen. He was my turning-page assistant at that concert.
