The multi-modal terminal on NW-1 will provide an open gateway to the trading routes of Bay of Bengal and other seas to the land locked state of Jharkhand thus leading to socio-economic development of the region.

• Location: Sahibganj, Jharkhand, (South Bank of River Ganga)
• Capacity: 2.24 MTPA with rail and road connectivity.
• Road connectivity: Connected with NH-80
• Rail connectivity: Connected with Sakrigali railway station

1. Ro-Ro crossings at 5 cities - (Rajmahal-Manichak, Samdaghat- Manihari, Kahalgaon- Tintanga, Hasnapur-Bakhtiyarpur, Buxar- Saraikota)
2. Ferry Service within 6 cities (Patna, Varanasi, Kolkata, Haldia, , Bhagalpur, Mungher)
3. River cruise services- 3 operators with 7 star, 5 star vessels
4. Cargo transport for Nepal-Kolkata to Kalughat near Patna
5. Development of water based tourist facilities, water sports etc.
