To do this correctly, you need to know your product. If you already know you are selling rings, or necklaces – then you will be using the product research tool. This uses the best match searches from eBay to find products to sell. If you are a manufacturer however, then you want to look at the categories and subcategories section which is much broader which allows you to understand the demand in your niche more specifically. Before you get started, you need to make sure that your settings are correct. Do this by going to the quick settings and chose your shipping location, source website and your breakeven cost. We scroll down to the “jewellery and watches section and look at the various subcategories. We go for the broad one such as “fashion jewellery” From here, ZIK will show us lifetime data for this subcategory for the top 50 products in this category. We can see the best-selling jewellery products in this category. From here we can see the country of the seller, the feedback, and their pricing. We like to use this list and find out which products are repeating. In our example, we can see that earrings, necklaces and rings are doing extremely well. From here, we look to see if there are any sellers that appear multiple times as well, and we scan the seller. We can see that the seller is doing extremely well, so now we can use their successful products to know what is selling and what isn’t. We recommend creating a list of sellers similar to this one to really help you understand your niche. From here, we copy the winning titles, and paste them into the product research tab, trimming only for the main keywords related to the product. ZIK provides us with the relevant data for that product, which we can see is doing extremely well. Form here, we try and source products that are slightly better than the winning products, which gives us a competitive advantage of the other winning sellers. Using the eBay title builder. We can use the winning products that we like on eBay, and we paste that title into the title builder page. This gives us a range of information that we can use to build our titles. The benefits of using the title builder means that you can see the sales attributed to specific keywords.
