When Ken Morrish came up with the Morrish Mouse he was truly inspired.  This thing floats like a dream, gives an excellent profile, is light to cast, and simply catches fish.  The other thing I love about this pattern is that it is basically three materials that you will use or probably already have in your tying supplies.

I have had excellent luck with this pattern on still water both in the day and at night.  Probably my most favorite aspect of tying this fly, is that it is great practice for working and spinning deer hair.  It is very forgiving.  You could totally screw it up and it will still float and catch fish.  After tying a dozen of these, you will be much better at selecting equal clumps of deer hair, pinching while tightening your thread, not cutting the deer hair with the thread, and making a more dense body (which floats more).

Tie some up and watch them get slammed by some hungry fish.
