Why is it a No No to connect UPC and APC together

Fiber Optic or Fiber Optic Network is easy to install.  But there are rules to follow.
In Fiber Optic Termination, it is not allowed to connect UPC to APC or vice versa as it will have a high attenuation due to the presence of air gaps in between them.
