Vegan Chef Jason Wrobel funks up the traditional grilled cheese with a dairy-free vegan tip that includes sliced pear, fig jam, and tempeh bacon. Begin by frying the tempeh strips in coconut oil until they’re nice and crisp. Throw those babies onto a pre-grilled slice of bread and then add some pear slices and vegan cheese. Slather on the fig jam, top it off with the other grilled bread slice, and then grill away. A few minutes later you’ve got a crispy, melty, sweet & salty medley for your mouth. Yum and then some.
