Sharing cost of repairs and
Sharing cost of repairs and overall opinion of my 2007 BMW X3 after owning for 10 years.
2007 BMW X3
-All wheel drive. ( does fantastic in snow and ice, I mean really impressive )
-260 hp. I-6 engine. ( I've gone 120 mph and it will do more but the sunroof starts rattling )
-20 mpg combined. ( i've gotten it to 23 mpg on flat highway at 70 mph )
-Repairs performed ( not counting maintenance eg. brakes , oil service)
Pricing based off independent repair facility specialists using factory parts.

-Vanos solenoids ( incharge of engine timing ,causes check engine light) $560
-valve cover assembly with eccentric shaft sensor. $1,800
-Oil filter housing gaskets $480
-Drive belt with tensioner $580
-Transfer case actuator with oil change $860
-All four window regulators ( lift mechanism for glass) $1800
-Intake manifold DISA valves . ( changes engine torque curve) $1,400
-Coolant repairs ; Radiator, coolant reservoir, hoses, electric cooling
fan, electric water pump, thermostat. $3,200
-Windshield upper moulding $160
I love driving this car and have spent a small fortune maintaining it. If you are looking to purchase one, get one with low mileage and find a specialist to keep it in good shape. Neglecting even the smallest of repairs on this vehicle will lead to heart ache. But this car has plastered may smiles on my face :)
