We've moved beyond creating a family tree or pedigree chart on paper. Using either online options or a software for your personal computer opens up the world of genealogy! These programs will point you to records available online to help you find your ancestors and keep you organized. In addition, they offer various printing options to share with others.
Beginner genealogists need to start with a good place to build their trees. This is the first in a series of videos which will assist you in beginning your genealogy adventures.
This video reviews Ancestry.com, MyHeritage.com, FindMyPast.com and two of the most popular software programs if you prefer to keep things on your computer - Family Tree Maker and Rootsmagic. The family tree found on FamilySearch is also discussed. Note these reviews are based on my experience and opinions. I have received no compensation to mention these products - so no bias!
