Amid a slew of alleged Ukrainian drone attacks in the western region of the Russian Federation, Russia’s military claims to have destroyed 281 in the last week.
Despite previously shying away from claiming responsibility for many drone attacks in Russia over the last few months, Ukrainian officials are now promising more strikes against Russia and Russia-controlled territory.
“The number of these attacks will increase. Because this is the stage of the war, when hostilities are gradually being transferred to the territory of the Russian Federation,” said Mykhailo Podolyak, senior advisor to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during an interview.
Not taking full responsibility for drone strikes on Russian and Russia-controlled territories, Podolyak suggested Russian supporters of Ukraine “take part in destroying certain military capabilities of the Russian Federation on Russian soil.”
Additionally, after 18 months of war, Podolyak suggests peace, or compromise, may not be an option.
