DIY Bubble bath flowers are used as hand soap, body wash, or bubble bath. They're gorgeous, realistic, & they smell amazing! This project takes time but it's actually an easy process that's really fun - get really creative with every aspect! You need wafer paper- edible paper that dissolves. It comes in O, AD, or DD grades (thickness) O = 0.22 mm, AD = 0.27-0.35 mm, DD = 0.6 mm. O or AD grade are great for delicate flowers with lots of petals like roses or ranunculus's. DD grade is good for robust peonies or magnolias. After painting, O and AD grade flowers remain soft, flowy, and move. However, DD grade flowers become thick, stiff, quite hard, and have no movement. Each flower requires 5-10 petal sets (petals connected in center). Make sets very similar but vary them slightly in size. You can cut petals out by hand but a cutting machine, like silhouette cameo, is highly recommended. Use a round shape (foam balls) to mold petals. Moisturize foam balls to prevent petals from sticking. For colorful edges, mix alcohol with mica. Gently apply mixture to edges. Tips: Apply color sparingly. Use colors close to petal color. Painting petals: 50 milliliters liquid bubble bath, 15 milliliters surfactant (cocamidopropyl betaine), 1/8 cup sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (SLSa), 15 milliliters fragrance oil, liquid colorant. You only need a liquid surfactant (like bubble bath) - everything else is optional! **This is the most SLSa you can add. If you add more, the liquid becomes too thick to paint with.** Microwave mixture to dissolve SLSa. Then add fragrance oil & colorant. Paint both sides of petals. Place ball in center and gently mold each petal around it. Push petals down until the set is perfectly smooth and round. Dry petals completely. ***NOTES: Mold petals with same size balls *Only .6 mm, grade DD wafer paper can be painted on both sides at once. Other papers need to be painted ones side at a time then dry. ASSEMBLY: Gently unmold petals. Bend the top of a 14-16 gauge wire (a more realistic wire is linked below). Petal sets should all be about the same size. Start with the smallest. Pierce the center and push it up. Add petals until the flower is full (about 5-10 petal sets). QUICK TIPS: Use broken & single petals; hold them in place and slide a petal set around them. Alternate petal sets so they're not all facing the same way. Use a bowl shape, like a large petal, (use DD grade paper) for reinforcement. Anchor flower head with a skinny wire wrapped tightly at the base. Last, add stamens. Pipe stamens in or add paper for a more realistic look. *******************If you enjoy my content, please buy this girl a cup of coffee!****************** www.buymeacoffee.com/creativebathlab The link below contains affiliated links.
