[Eats Kidae] Korea's meal fit for kings, Hanjeongsik at Heuktodamgol (한글자막 포함)
Heuktodamgol (흙토담골) is a traditional Korean restaurant in Korea serving Hanjeongsik (한정식), a traditional full-offering meal where you can enjoy a plethora of Korean delicacies in one sitting, like a king!
You sit down and they bring you dish after dish of banchan (반찬), which are Korean side dishes, until the entire table is full. I don’t even think you would get this experience in the world’s top buffet, because literally, the entire table is full.
So whereas in the western food culture, a high-end meal would entail separate courses, brought out one by one, in Korea, they bring out all the goods at once and it’s a feast for your eyes as much as it is for your mouth.
So it’s a perfect opportunity to get to taste a wide range of different Korean foods in one meal, and also, to feel like a King and Queen.
Heuktodamgol (흙토담골) is located about an hour and a half outside of Seoul, in a small town called Toechon (퇴촌) in the Gyunggi (경기) province, and it’s going to make you feel like you were transported into the Joseon (조선) era of Korea.
