Electromechanical Master Clock System with
Electromechanical Master Clock System with Master, Binary slave, 12" atronimical slave ,12" standard slave and 12" calendar slave.
This video shows the system as it reaches midnight on the 31st of March. The master steps all the clocks to midnight and sends a "midnight" pulse to the calendar clock (bottom right). The calendar clock's internal program works out the last day of the month for each month including leap years and can be seen stepping the day hand to 01 and the month hand to April.
The master also sends out electric pulses to strike the hour on a large 4" long case clock bell.
