Who would win in a fight between a Jaguar and a Black caiman? Watch to the end :)
Fun fact: Did you know leopards are more closely related to lions than jaguars despite them looking similar to jaguars?
The jaguar is the third largest big cat right behind lions and tigers. A typical male jaguar weighs between 125-220 lbs in the wild. However, jaguars in the Pantanal and Amazon region tend to be much larger. They average 210 lbs and have a body length of up to 6 feet. Jaguars hunt turtles, fish, deer, capybaras, and of course caimans. Jaguars can be distinguished from leopards by their unique dotted roset pattern, and thicker/more robust skull and body.
The Black caiman is the largest of the living alligator family and is considered the largest predator of the Amazon region. Jaguars and Black caiman both inhabit the Amazon rainforest, so they do interact with each other in the wild. A Typical mature male Black caiman grows between 11-13 feet in length, and weighs around 660 lbs. So, it's comparable in size to an American alligator, just a little larger though.
