Trying Out The Meteoric Ore Blade On Malenia (NG+ No Hit)

MOB might be my favourite somber katana in terms of utility. I decided to give this a try because in almost every showcase against Malenia, people tend not to use Gravitas at all. To be fair to them, Gravitas is more a skill designed for exploration and crowd-control so it's a difficult skill to use on bosses due to hyper-armour. I messed around for roughly two hours but only a few openings stuck out to me.

Gravitas is a utility skill in terms of omni-directional staggers and stance damage. With MOB, you really want to focus on using more R2s to build up stance damage. In NG and NG+, Malenia has 80 posture health so build up stance damage and when you know her posture will be broken, use Gravitas to bring her in for the riposte. It's also great for wakeups after a ripostes and when her HP in phase one is depleted. Additionally, I found it safe to use Gravitas after her air slams because she won't go into her swipes and often does her kick; which will give you enough time to roll through it.

In phase two, there are two more openings to use Gravitas. After her divebomb, you can use it to drag her out of the bloom so you can get a free hit. The other opening is after she jumps and slams down for the geyser, you often get a free R1 after the full skill. I didn't manage to use Gravitas much in this attempt because the adrenaline got the better of me and I unga-bunga'ed my way to victory. xD
