Go to any city in the world and, as a rule, restaurants that are near the market are far more likely to be decent, simply by virtue of their proximity to all the good stuff.
Four Seasons, a hotpot and BBQ spot within spitting distance of New Smithfield Market, proves this point capably.
Specialising in Beijing-style cuisine, you can load yourself up with a bubbling cauldron of soup, noodles and some of the freshest produce you can find in Manchester in no time at all. Or alternatively, fire up the on-table barbecue with hot coals and get grilling.
They do all the regular Chinese dishes too but, trust us, dive into the traditional hotpot and BBQ situation. You won't regret it. It's as warm as the welcome, and then afterwards, throw yourself into some karaoke too.
Gems don't come much more hidden than this place.
