The ‘Guardian Sunra Ceremony’ is a traditional cultural event that recreates the patrolling of the Sunra Army, which was responsible for the safety of the capital city during the Joseon Dynasty.
Starting from Gwanghwamun of Gyeongbokgung Palace, it marches along the cultural street of Insa-dong with the performance of the Chwitadae, and a total of 60 soldiers from the Joseon Dynasty, including not only the Sunra Army, but also the gatekeepers, sergeants, and Gapsa, appear, providing a wealth of attractions.
○ Order of events
- Woldae parade in front of Gwanghwamun → March to Insa-dong → Sunra ceremony in progress → Photo time with visitors (*Bukinsa Madang Plaza) → March to Gwanghwamun Woldae
