In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, a BJP district president, Chintu Verma, made headlines. This is because he proposed that people entering garba pandals should be made to drink cow urine to examine their identity. Garba is a popular festival during Navratri. Verma said “you should drink "gaumutra" before entering the garba pandals. Verma, while talking to the media, explained that this practice of "aachman" holds significant value in Sanatan culture. He emphasized that Hindus should not object to this, adding that it could be a means to ensure the purity of the participants who will enter the sacred space of the Garba pandals.
