Which is the better Podcast Microphone??... well they both come with a boom arm kit that adjusts to your need, for a little more money you go with maono au-pm421 for sure!! The Sound to Noise ratio is 74 compared to 70 on 401. While that's not that much of a deal when podcasting, still price difference warrants it. Both of these rock out and deliver solid output with no background noise or hiss from mic. The maono aupm421 has a gain knob whereas the maono aupm401 does not but has a Headphones Jack. The shock mount for mic in the boom arm is definitely better and more controllable in the maono au-pm421. These may be the best usb plug n play microphones i tested so far for podcast and vlogging.
